Barnes & Noble Censors Cover Featuring Androgynous Male Model - Jezebel

--Image from Jezebel

Jezebel is one of my regular daily spots in terms of pop culture updates and I've got to say that this was a new one to me. Andrej Pejic is featured on the newest cover of Dossier magazine and both Barnes & Noble and Borders say that the issues have to be delivered to the stores in opaque packaging - because Pejic could be mistaken for a young girl.

........huh. Ok. A MALE model, one with admittedly androgynous features, is posed topless on the cover of a magazine and somehow this is censor worthy? Just as the Jezebel article suggests, what about about the dozens - hundreds - of other magazines that feature half naked men? Oh well those are apparently ok because of the hyper-sexualized masculine persona they're presenting, cause you know that makes 'sense' to the world.

My head hurts.

What do you guys think? Is it just me or does this sound more than a little bit ridiculous?
